Product Review: SumoSac
June 22nd, 2008 Filed in: Reviews Jump to comments
Once again Sumo Lounge has launched another ingenious product: the SumoSac (super size bean bag). I received a SumoSac couple weeks ago for product review and I gotta tell you, it is one of the most comfortable bean-bag chair I have ever sat in. The SumoSac is a large suede sac filled with shredded furniture grade urethane foam. In addition to its comfort, the Sumosac is stylish and practical. The size of the sac is more than enough space to accommodate two people simultaneously, which is great for playing video games or just chilling with friends. The suede cover is soft and comfy, unlike the nylon cover of the Omni I got a while back. Best of all, it is removable so cleaning is not problem at all. For more details please visit their website.

Sumo, indeed! That thing looks monstrous. I haven’t heard of it until now. My old bean-bag chair wore out a few years ago, this sumo thing looks like it might just replace it. Good timing.

This is a little dubious Nick… i mean, i’m sure it’s a lovely product, but you’re coming across a little sycophantic, especially since this has been your first post in about 3 months. but maybe i’m being a little harsh because, damn you, now i want one!

My family has something similar that an aunt made for us kids 20+ years ago, and it’s great. The only problem now is that there is a bit of an argument of who lays claim to “Big Blue” since all the kids are grown up. I suppose I can buy off my brother and sister with one of these!

Thanks for the tip.
I was looking for something like this for a while, so I will try the Omni first then I’ll definately go for this one.
Thanks again.

Excellent product! For european visitors, they can look for a fatboy which is nearly excactly the same idea.
By the way, Nick, I have to say you are one of the greatest designer I follow on Internet. I am impressed!

Thanks to everyone for following up my blog & work. The reason why I’m not posting new blog here because I’m planning to redesign my site and I might re-construct entire site.

I’d Love one.

Thanks Nick for the review of this product. I haven’t seen something like this before. I wonder if this can be bought from eBay.

I don’t like bean-bag type chairs that much. I think they are good for kids as they can jump on them. But being that close to the ground, not for me!

Wow, I wait 2 months for a post from my favorite designer and I get a bean bag review?!
Haha, well nice review anyway. Looking forward to the new site.

I wonder if you got paid for posting this review.. Especially after comparing comments no 1 and 27. They’re the same. And some other things as well.. Just wondering, there is nothing wrong in getting paid for such things of course :)
August 4th, 2008 at 11:27 am
This is the second positive review I’ve read about the SumoSac, can’t wait to get one of my own! And at such a great price!
Really.
August 4th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
@Lonasinho - No, I don’t get paid for this review. However, the bean bag was free.
August 5th, 2008 at 4:58 pm
Isnt this just a cheaper & bigger copy of the “Fatboy” bean bags?

I agree this chair really looks comfortable and depending on the person sitting on it-it can also look pretty cool. But I have seen much more eccentric seating possibilities than this.
On www.ridiculousdesignrules.com you can vote now for the most ridiculous design. 4 are up for the vote. Ball Chair, Pat Conley II, Hand Chair and the ultimate Max the bath tub chaise. Check it out it’s worth it. You can also sent in images of seating possibilities that seem even more ridiculous than the displayed ones.
