After a long wait, my first WordPress theme, GlossyBlue is finally released! It is a glossy hi-tech theme with some of my Web 2 Mini icons. Check it out if you are looking for a WordPress theme for your blog. This is my first WP theme, so let me know if you find any bug, although I have tested on most major browsers (Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Opera) on both PC and Mac.
Any questions, comments, or suggestions regarding this theme, please use the comment form below to post your message.

Hey I have got some question regarding design matter, somehow might not be just design, it’s about postscript printing, if you do have the knowledge.
1. Do I really need to print my artwork with postscript if I’m just using a laser jet printer? Does it make any different? For your info I print directly through Illustrator.

Error Preview: http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/3000/errorqq9.jpg
December 11th, 2006 at 12:58 am
Hmm, I’m also getting an error with the basic skin. This only happens for the main page. Every other page works fine.
December 11th, 2006 at 1:18 am
Nevermind, found the problem. There was an open tag in one of the posts.
Great skin!
December 11th, 2006 at 4:11 am

December 12th, 2006 at 12:30 pm
What is the value in the css file, of the baclground of categories, archives, link? Is softly green, but i dont find it in the style.css!
December 12th, 2006 at 8:44 pm
Great theme. Now I’m using it too. Two questions:
I would like to remove borders on image links. I’ve commented the border lines on img.center, img.left at style.css, but it doesn’t works.
On the other hand, how can I add an edit link to posts, I’ve tried adding beside of the_category() call at index.php. In other themes it works, but here seems not.
Thanks, I hope you are understanding my poor english.
December 12th, 2006 at 11:53 pm
Pierre - that is “content-bg.gif” at #page rule.
BatU - to remove the image border, add this to style.css:
img {
border: none;
}
To add the edit post link, add this to single.php (right after <?php the_content(); ?>):
<?php edit_post_link('Edit', '', ''); ?>
December 13th, 2006 at 8:46 am
Thanks Nick.
The images hasn’t border now. But the edit link doesnt’ appear yet. It’s strange, whenever I put the edit_post_link() it doesn’t works.
December 13th, 2006 at 10:17 am
Hey nick!
1- How to edit the page parent? If i make page parent of one, the botton menù is confused.
2- How to post for example “tutorial” not in a category, but in a page created by me.
Thanks a lot!
December 13th, 2006 at 5:22 pm

Thank you.
December 14th, 2006 at 10:16 am
Beautiful theme, I will include this in my third list of best WordPress themes.
December 14th, 2006 at 11:17 am
Simply amazing! I’ve been following this site back from 2005 and just can get enough of it. Your work is realy great. Thanks for sharing.
December 14th, 2006 at 4:51 pm
Hi Nick,
I luv ur theme, it is really great! However I found three minor minor “flaws” in the CSS.
When there is no next or previous page, your theme still shows the green arrow.
Just adding “a” to the end of .previous-entries and .next-entries does the trick (then .previous-entries a {… and .next-entries a {…)
The other one is in h1 where you refer to header-icon.gif which does not come with the images.
The third “flaw” is the #nav which you do not use at all…
Again, really great and thanks for sharing your theme (I converted it to 3 columns).
Seb

February 4th, 2007 at 4:34 pm
Love the theme! It’s perfect for the redesign I’m in the middle of!
I’ve got a quick question: How difficult would it be to add a “Home” tab to the navigation bar? I’ve played around a little but I can’t seem to make it work.
Is this something simple I should be able to just do or is it a big project? Thanks!

i’m download the theme, i try it and i will tell you about him! thank you very much.

Hi Nick, thanks so much for this excellent piece. I love it!! I’m using it at http://www.pssss.com/
Btw, is there an easy way to control the page tab in the header? For example I would like to add an ‘about’ page but I don’t want it taking up that space there in the header. Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks again for this great theme and the one you’re using now! You’re a genius!

I’ve finished installing it on my site. Looks quite nice, and have done a bit of modifications to it to make it look more unique.

Funny that you are using Wordpress and there is no any credits/linkback to wordpress website and you produced a theme with “must link back to ndesign-studio … “, you should include a link back to wordpress website or release your theme with ” please do not remove link credits at the footer”

I made GlossyThree WP theme. That is a 3 column mod of GlossyBlue Basic. For now, it’s available only in Serbian Cyrillic hard-coded locale, but I’ll soon make distributive package. Demo is my own blog (Serbian Cyrillic) :)
Get it from there.
A big thank goes to N.Design Studio for this great theme!

I’m using it too. I like the footer better on this blog because it goes all the way to the bottom of the page, but I love the other theme too. Thanks a bunch. After trying a bunch of other themes this one is by far the best. I am a blogger convert and only recently started using WordPress, so far I like it, but I miss my old blog posts.

I love this theme, but I have a small problem. I installed the theme as it is, but there is no calendar. I do not know how to figure it out how to make it appear there.
Does anyone know how to insert the calendar widget in the sidebar?

I’m using your theme too and it’s gotten me several compliments. My blog (in Dutch) is about Macs, Education and Technology and it compliments especially the Mac aspect of what I’m writing about in my Blog.
I’ve started blogging just a short while ago and I’ve been searching extensively for a quality theme. Once I discovered Glossy Blue I knew what theme to use.
Well, that’s just a long version of: thank you for this beautiful theme.

Love the theme… it’s definitely my favorite. I’m only having one issue with it. If you add a link to the Blogroll, and click on Advanced > Image Address and add an image, it doesn’t show up in the sidebar. However it does with the default theme. Is this a known issue? Can it be fixed easily?

However, I do have one small problem. In the sidebar, I have links under “Blogroll” and I’ve created one more category, and placed some links under that one. But all my links appear under “blogrolll”. How do I fix this? Please help me out on this one :) Thanks.

I have a problem with this theme. If I save some articles as drafts, these articles are visible in the recent post in the sidebar.
Is it possible to get drafts not visible online?

Hi Nick.
I’m quite skilled with Photoshop and a bit with Illustrator.
Is it easy for a beginner to edit wordpress with those tools, or does it require a lot of web-programming knowledge?
The GlossyBlue is really nice, it’s just that after seeing a lot of blogs made by the people commenting on this site, it would be nice to be able to personalise it a bit :)
Thanks,
Best regards - Esben S. Jensen :)

April 1st, 2007 at 1:18 pm
Nick, fantastic site and theme. You’re doing some really inspiring things with CSS and wordpress. Glossy Blue has been a great learning tool for me as I have experimented with it.
If you have a minute, I have a question, too. I’ve added a specific set of ids to the stylesheet for a page element I had created. After making the additions, the type across the theme gets a little wonky in firefox. Everything seems to render correctly in most other browsers. Any ideas? Are there some wierd inheritance things going on?
April 2nd, 2007 at 11:09 am
Hi Nick,
Thank you so much for this great theme! It’s fantastic.
I just noticed one bug, which has been really easy to fix:
The feed url was incorrect. So all I did was edited footer.php and removed the two feed: bits of code from that file.
I’m sure that’s a real n00b type thing though =) But anyway, it might help someone.
Cheers,
David

Hi Nick,
Thanks for the wonderful theme. I have two issues though. Hope you will be able to help me out there.
1. I’m using Gregarious plugin for Digg. The Digg icon take separate space in itself and does not come next to the text. Is there something that we can do about that?
2. The author’s name does not appear either in the header or in the footer of the post. How do I make it appear in the header.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Check out the website and you will understand what I am saying.

Hi Nick, great theme!
I am trying to implement it in my site http://www-webhosting.cz/ which is in Czech language. Therefore I had to change the encoding from Western (Latin1) to utf-8 in order to correctly display specific Eastern European characters. Unfortunately the design breaks then but only in IE, in FF it works fine. Any idea how to fix it?
I do appreciate your help :)
May 2nd, 2007 at 10:35 pm
I love the theme, as it is perfect for what I am trying to do, however I have one minor issue.
The title of my theme “Gardner Cole’s Slapdash Jottings of a Virtuoso…” overlaps the “Consistently Inconsistent” which is the “description” of my site…
I know where to change the font size of the description, but not of the title.
Any idea of what file and line I need to change the title size, so that it doesn’t overlap?
I’m using the latest version of fireyferret on OS X. Email me if you can!

May 19th, 2007 at 2:57 pm
Hi Nick,
this will be redundant, but wow, what-a-nice-work. Not only on the design side, that is truly impressive, but also on the code / CSS side, which is SO much clear than many CSS’s I’ve seen around. I tweaked Glossyblue a bit to make it “darker”, if you want to have a look: http://imil.net/wp
Thanks again
