Migrated to Dedicated Server
January 7th, 2007 Filed in: News & Updates Jump to commentsAfter a long day, I have finally migrated all my sites to Media Temple virtual dedicated server. N.Design Studio was transfered smoothly, however, Best Web Gallery was down for about a day due to some server issues. The issues have been resolved now and they should running fine and fast. If you have found any bugs or broken links, please let me know. Thanks.

Normally the more expensive a server is the better services it can provide but this can work both ways. You normally just know when your getting a good deal. Besides i’m sure the owner knows what hes doing

2 Miles Johnson,
Thanks for you suggestion, I actually have one book named “head rush ajax”. The thing is when I was learning html and css, I actually enjoyed it and it was easy. Because I am more of a designer other than a IT guy. Anyway, it looks like the wordpress is a pretty good stuff, allowing people to creative more internative pages without having to learn PHP and … I have paid a visit to your website, looking good.

[…] It would appear that this is wrong I have nothing but downtime, poor customer service and small but not insignificant issues. So I checked around. It would appear I am not the only one high ranking google sites that I respect like Matt Brett has experienced problems and switched as have others . I do still rank media temple and see other good feedback about them I see N.Design Studio (this great WordPress Theme creator) is on the Dedicated Server. I am seriously considering what to do. !! Do I upgrade or shift? […]

There definitely are issues with the grid server I rate Media Temple as a host. So I took a Gridserver plan for one of my customers but it has been very problematic I also have had bad experiences with the time to get CS responses (different timezone doesn’t help UK->US but I am sure it can not all ben down to that)
Is it worth going to the DV Nick.
BTW great site love the Wordpress template at you can see at my Blog at porkandpaws.com

I currently have kattare as my hosting provider. I am thinking of switching to MT, however, I don’t know how reliable they are. Has anyone have any positive (or negative) experiences they would like to share.
I like the fact there dedicated virtual server plan starts at $50!

@june - the best way to learn is to buy a book. i found it hard to understand ajax, but then i got a book ajax and php and i learned it instantly.
@nick - the gs server is really good, ive been using it a while. media temple is quite a good host.

Hi Nick, Just wondering how do you have so much time to maintain this website if you have a full time job. I am running a website myself. I just learned some HTML and CSS, and I am trying to self teach javascript and AJAX. I feel like giving up now. The codes look like alien to me, this is so hard for a graphic designer.
