New Project: Design Jobs on the Wall
September 8th, 2008 Filed in: News & Updates Jump to comments
Finally, the job board (Design Jobs on the Wall) that I’ve been working on is launched. It is a very simple job board where you can post or find design jobs. If you have a job opening, please post a job and let me know your thoughts on the workflow. You can post a full-time job for only $75 or a freelance job for $50. Opening special: enter coupon code “promo” to get a 50% discount on your first job listing. Lastly, I would like to thank Justin from Scheetz Designs, for his excellent job on coding the back-end of the job board. Justin is also the guy behind the web design gallery, Design Snack.

Can I offer some constructive critisism, the site is great dont get me wrong but you will need to market this. That can cost money, what I would do contact a freelance website or something like that and ask them if you can host there contract/freelance job payments. all youd need to do is parse this through and after the CDATA tag put a comment saying this geed is from this place etc.
I think it should be fairly simple if you made a site like that.
Good luck dude. Im doing a science jobs one on newsciencejobs.co.uk but I havent got as good a script as you !
Cheers

Hi Nick,
Great idea and launch. I do agree with Sam: You’ll need to compete with websites like jobs.smashingmagazine and jobs.freelanceswitch, which will probably pretty hard.
Anyway, will post about it in my sideblog, hoping it helps you with the launch.
Keep up the great work!
Greetings,
Marco

It would be even cooler when designers and programmers can create their own profile to introduce them selves. Then companys can select a profile who perfectly fits to take the job.

I would just do a new version of NDesign studio and would be happy with it.

Sam is right. There has to be some promotion, since the site is really awesome. What I dislike are the quite expensive prices. They could be justified by a market campaign with ads etc. My suggestions go into another direction. Make the posts for free and earn revenue by sponsered ads or get mediation-provision for succesful matches.
