If you are looking for a CMS or a new web tool for your projects, I strongly recommend WordPress to you. WordPress is a great tool, and best thing is free! Here I have collected some of the best WordPress sites that I’ve found. Some have good implementation of plugins, yet others have good design theme. My wordpress blog was created for the benefit of our family and friends, so that they could follow our progress when we moved from the UK to France in Aug 2005.

Many thanks for the mention, mate! I was surprised to see fadtastic in the list as it doesn’t really push the barriers graphically like your own site here.
I think this list shows that WordPress blogs aren’t all using the default themes out there.

WordPress for sure is a very powerful tool. I like to use it, too. But i think it is the wrong way to look at the design of a website and say:”Wow, Wordpress is amazing!”
Cause the website could look the same even if it was built on another CMS.
Maybe you could mention some features of WordPress so the guys that haven’t seen it yet can imagine.
I really like the fact that mod-rewrite is already implemented in the system.

Must be one of those weekends…I just got done porting my site from Movable Type to Wordpress. Besides the lack of good documentation and way too many ways to do the same thing in PHP, I’ve enjoyed the change — much easier to manage. Check it out.

Hey, thanks for the love! Although, I feel my portfolio section is the weakest of my site. Still nice to get noticed for pushing the WP boundaries in that department. So thank you! I think this is a great idea as i am a wordpress user myself. A lot of people thinks that joomla is the best cms for all and wordpress is only a blogging platform (Which i don’t agree). You can really do amazing sites with it. With it’s worldwide support you can learn anything.

Wow, great post.. I have been with Frostbytehosting.com for over one year now. I started with a simple Shared Hosting Plan but since their support was so good, I now own 3 dedicated servers from them. I think I have tried all other hosts, Godaddy, Hostgator, but their support was lacking and Frostbyte’s was just was too good. I don’t own a Managed Server but honestly, I asked them to install scripts and they did it. With like 15 min turn arounds.. I love this company. But anyway good luck with whoever you choose. But, after all the hacking to the core code, for example the dashboard pages on subdomains for each member (http://darthgaara.anime-wallpapers.com). With features such as favouriting wallpapers, linking dashboards by becoming friends and I could go on.

This site http://www.tangomag.com is one of the best examples of the use of wordpress as a Content Management System (CMS) that I have come across. At first glance, I found it hard to believe that it was built in wordpress but I was talking to Tango Media and they said that they creatively used categories in wordpress to store and display various blogs..they have 7 running on the site..and it is not even a Wordpress MU install.
Looks like they have done some customization of the related posts plugin and creatively use of the sharing tools as well. More power to wordpress.

My internet marketing blog covering SEO, Web Analytics, and Social media was built using Wordpress, I find it better suited to my needs than Joomla and Drupal, I’ve used both and found Drupal hard to learn, and Joomla both hard to learn and not enough functionality.

I’m getting my site ready for my second e-commerce site and thinking I’d like the front page to be a word press page with only a button that leads to the rest of the shopping and ordering pages. I’m sure that’s not a totally original idea. I think maybe woot.com does it that way. Any thoughs appreciated.

hello all,
I used drupal for about two years before my friend introduced me to wordpress. DO NOT USE DRUPAL it is extremely hard to figure out and there are virtually no options that you can change easily. Wordpress has changed my website for the best because it is so easy to use and extremely customizable.

I think that woothemes and the thesis theme are the two companies that are producing the most “usable” wordpress themes. Both companies have continued to evolve and push the envelop while offering more features to users.

I love Wordpress. http://discoveryacademyinc.com was designed for a Childcare Center in Nebraska using Wordpress. It features multiple photo-slideshows and even has a secure “Parent Access Page” that allows for user-name & password log-in.

Wordpress is by far more easier and user friendly than Joomla. No looking back for me now.
