N.Design Studio

N.Design Phoenix Finally Launched

Filed in: WordPress, News & Updates Jump to comments

After two months of hard work and learning, N.Design Phoenix theme is finally live! N.Design Studio is now powered by WordPress as a blogging and content management tool (CMS). This new design is much better in term of layout and coding. It is actually the fifth version of N.Design Studio. Since WordPress uses theme, so I’m calling this theme N.Design Phoenix instead of version five. Here I will tell you what are the differences in this theme and the older version.

Coding

This template is coded with validated semantic XHTML (proper use of H1, H2, UL, LI, etc) and CSS. It is much more accessible compare to the previous version. It has been tested on several major browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, and Safari), so it should work in all browsers. Beside of the screen stylesheet, I also designed a printer friendly CSS stylesheet that will exclude all unnecessary stuffs to save your ink and paper. It will only print the main content and exclude the navigation, sidebar, footer, ads, etc.

Design

This is the first time I used so many different colors on a template. The background and navigation buttons are designed in various colors on purpose since this is a phoenix theme. I tried to keep the reading area white and plain so the background image stands out. Black on white text also makes reading more comfortable. The font size is bigger than the older version because I realize a lot of my visitors have high resolution monitors (based on the statistic information I collected). However, numbers of visitor are still using or setting display at 800 x 600, so I designed this template that still fit (without horizontal scrolling) on low resolution setting but best view with high resolution display.

Absolutely amazing design! Stunning! The email form on the contact page looks a bit messed up in Opera, but otherwise this site is a perfect 10:)

you need to use onfocus =”blur()” when you click your top nav buttons you get that ugly dotted box across the whole screen in firefox

Thanks for the little tips. It works.
